ShopING

Clothing

Do you love to shop? I sure do, unfortunately I don't have the money or time to do so anymore.

When I was younger, money was no object to spend on clothing. I shopped twice a week at stores like Macy's, A&S, Saks Fifth, Lord and Taylor, Gap to name a few.

I remember paying $75 dollars for a blouse from Ellen Tracy in 1995, I was about 19 years old then. Today, if you tell me to spend $75 dollars on a blouse, I would definitely think twice about doing so. It is not because the economy sucks it is because I evolved into a smart shopper. If, I like the item, I would make sure I have a coupon and that it is also on sale. You may call me cheap and you know what I'm OKay with that because I continue to learn a lot about myself as I mature.

Do you wonder why we feed a need to shop for new clothing when the current ones still fits, THANK GOD!

Is it because we:

  • Want to keep up with fashion (style, color, fit)
  • Want to feel pretty / sexy
  • Want to think we look like the manakin wearing the outfit
  • Want to keep up with our friends / co-workers
  • Want to attract complements and friends
  • Want to satisfy some sort of unknown need
  • Want to spend our money just because we earn it
  • Want our relatives, friends, neighbours to think we got it like that
  • Feel current clothes shrunk over the years as an excuse an not you
As a professional woman here are a couple stores I love to shop at:
  1. Ann Taylor
  2. Ann Taylor Loft
  3. Banana Republic
  4. Talbots
  5. Inc

Shoe

I don't know about you but I love a variety of shoes, I can't seem to own enough. The only problem with owning so many shoes is that choosing the right one for the outfit being worn.

I find myself standing in front of the shoe rack for close to half an hour most working days trying to decide which shoe to wear. With that said, you know it. I'm almost always running late because of my feet (funny).

High heels makes any woman looks decent, I feel flats are for indoors (house shoes). Hey don't get offended, I appreciate your anxiety, I been there. What I giggle at are folks who try to wear stockings on open toe shoes, what are they thinking? If you see someone doing this, you dive deep down within yourself to bring the courage to enlighten them about fashion foot ware do's and don'ts.
